그런 절망은 거듭되는 시련 속에서 나타나는 경우도 있지만 대부분 타인에 의한 의도적인 비난, 강압, 혹은 사회적 부적응에서 많이 나타난다.
즉 그리 정상적이지 않은 현상에 너무 의미를 부여한 나머지 진정한 생명까지 저버리는 안타까움에 이르는 것이다.
일단 내가 먼저 스스로의 생명과 존엄을 지켜야 하지만 그러기 힘든 상황이 닥칠 때에라도 내게 생명을 이어주신 부모님을 생각한다면 결코 쉽게 갈 수 없는 인생이다.
타인이 보기에 허무하기만 한 인생일지라도 스스로 목적 있는 삶을 살아간다면 세상 유일한 가치를 가지는 사람이 된다. 어떤 역할과 자격, 미사여구도 필요 없다.
그냥 본인 자체가 모든 것이며 우주이자 존재의 이유인 것이다.
